Description
A scribe as a young man, Smith used connections to gain command of a patrol sloop named Victory Chimes. After a well-publicized adventure that got Smith named an honorary bard, Clifton Dargon built him a new Victory Chimes. Captain Smith was very widely known as an adventurous high-seas sailor, but the reality was somewhat more ignoble. Unable to live up to people's expectations of him, he set off on a final voyage to Bichu, where he decided to retire, leaving the Victory Chimes to his first mate Victor Kent, and leaving his legend to live on back in his native Dargon.
