Well, I didn't get much writing done, but I did manage to convert all  
the back issues to use the new design layout and it's now a cinch to  
make design changes that are applied to all our stories and issues. Yay!

I've started some advertising in various places and it seems to be  
working. We've gotten three requests for new writers that have been  
handed to Jim, and I plan on advertising in more places over the next  
few weeks. If the response has been anything like what we've gotten so  
far, we very well may be getting some new authors into the group.

In terms of traffic, the advertising definitely bumped up our visitors  
to the site:



On average we were getting about 30 unique visitors a day. In the days  
following my advertisements, we hit 127 visitors. Pretty good, I'd  
say. Now I'm not tracking conversions, ie whether the visitors sign up  
as writers or subscribers, but at least we are getting more eyes to  
our site. And I think I've found a good outlet for advertising. I'm  
going to continue over the next few weeks and we'll see where our  
numbers end up. Considering we've gotten three requests to join so  
far, I think it's not a bad strategy.

That's about it for now. I'm working on the "B" redesign for  
November's issue and I'll start posting our issues on Amazon Kindle in  
the next week or so. We'll see how that goes.
