Kell

Description
Kell is Raphael's best friend. He was apprenticed to an alchemist when he was young. The alchemist turned out to be the mage Loth and Kell was enslaved by Loth. When Megan arrived, Raphael spent more time with her than with Kell. Kell's life seemed to be falling apart, and since he also loved Megan, he used magic to try to get her to love him. The magic went awry and Megan was cursed.
